3 Ways to Step Into Your Authentic Self

It’s so easy to get caught up in social norms and trends. They’re all around you, 24/7. They’re on social media, in advertisements and even in the music we listen to. We are so used to society telling us how to act, what path to walk down, what stores to shop from, that we lose touch with our own individual uniqueness.

Utilize these 3 steps to help you get in-tune with your authenticity.

Become your own competition.

It’s a competitive market out there. You see people succeeding and think that emulating successful people will guarantee the result they exhibit. Duplicating someone else’s success will NOT guarantee your success.

Stop quieting your voice! Embrace your uniqueness and pride yourself on the idea that you are different. You have the ability to stand out, why waste your time blending in with the masses?

Who do you want to represent? When people hear your name, what do you want them to associate it with? If you answer is greatness, then you need to listen to your authentic voice and follow your gut.

Live your passion, not your ego.

Do something because you love to do it, not because someone else wants you to or to prove anyone wrong. Being successful isn’t going to make someone love you more or treat you better. If you think your success will make someone treat you the way you deserve to be treated, that person is irrelevant and not worthy of your time.

It is very easy for ego to take the reins and take you for a spin. You get too caught up with what the future looks like instead of why you’re doing it. Live your passion and the success will follow.

Find others who share your passion. Build a community, build each other up.

Empowered women empower women.

Love your whole self.

Often times, your mind becomes consumed with negative thoughts you have about yourself. We focus on that one thing we don’t like about ourselves, draw attention to it and pretty much do everything except ignore it. We are all guilty of it.

However, you are more than that one imperfection. You are an entire being. When people look at you, they look at you as a whole. If you have one imperfection, it almost goes unnoticed because it’s surrounded by so many other amazing attributes.

Learning to love yourself in its entirety is one of the hardest things to do. Our inner critic has a very loud voice, but silencing it will bring you the most joy.

Your mind, body and soul are what make you, you! Never let anyone take that away from you.

Once you start living as an authentic being, you will start to attract others who are similar. You will become a magnet for everything you put out into the universe. Suddenly, opportunities arise out of places you never would’ve thought to look. But, your new, authentic self knows things your old self does not. Listen to her.
